Allyson Felix

Allyson Nicole Felix was born November 18, 1985, at Los Angeles. Her father Paul Felix was an ordained minister at the Master's Seminary in Sun Valley as well as her mother Marlean Felix was a school teacher at Balboa Magnet Elementary School. Felix showed an early aptitude for sports when she was in high school at Los Angeles Baptist High School. She discovered her sprinting talent at that time. Felix finished second in the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championships within just 10 weeks following her first attempt. Felix finished her high school education and was signed to an official contract with Adidas. In 2004 she began her studies at her first year at the University of Southern California, in the area of elementary education. Felix was presented with her first Olympic medal at the 2004's Summer Olympics In Athens Greece. Felix ran 200 meters in 22.18s which set a new junior world record. She was the youngest world champion of 200 meters at the Helsinki World Championships. She defended this title in 2007 beating her long-time Jamaican competitor Veronica Campbell. Felix was consistently in the top third of each event she competed in at Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo.
