Allyson Felix

Allyson Michel Felix was born 18 November 1985, in Los Angeles. Her father Paul Felix was an ordained minister at the Master's Seminary in Sun Valley and her mother Marlean Felix was a school teacher at Balboa Magnet Elementary School. Felix's talent for athletics was evident right from the day she began attending Los Angeles Baptist High School. Within a short time after her first attempt, Felix placed 2nd in the 200-meter race of the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix finished high school in 2003, and was signed by Adidas to become professional athlete. The following year she attended University of Southern California studying elementary education. Felix was awarded her first Olympic gold at the Athens Summer Olympics 2004. Felix broke a junior-world record in the 200-meter race with a time of 22.18. At the 2005 Helsinki World Championships, Felix became the world's youngest champion in running 200m. The following year, she won the title in front of her Jamaican adversary Veronica Campbell. Felix took part at Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo and consistently placed among the top three athletes at her particular events.
